BLUE CORN PLANTING & CORN STORIES / SEED & PLANT SHARE
Our first Indigenous Practices in the Garden workshop of 2025 is happening Thursday, May 15th 3:30-6:30pm!
We are so excited that Brandon Francis will be leading monthly workshops in the garden again this year. Brandon is a Diné seedkeeper, culture bearer, scientist and kinship builder. Brandon and his family have helped create and shape this space since it began four years ago, and we are honored to welcome them back.
This is not just a workshop, but a continual reclaiming of space—from a bare parking lot to a vibrant garden that grows food security out of connection, sovereignty and kinship. This will be a special time as we plant cherished blue corn seeds and celebrate the beginning of another growing season.
Brandon's visits are always fun and educational and important, so we hope you all can attend. We will have seeds and plant starts for you to take with you, so please bring some if you have any to share.
There will be drinks and snacks for everyone, all ages and experience levels are welcome, bring your own camp chair if you don't want to sit on a crate, and let us know if you have any questions! Also please share!
RSVP here, sign up at the pantry or call (970) 565-6424 to save your spot so that we know how many seeds and plants to bring!
